This backyard deck was built under an existing covered patio to create a level outdoor living area. The photos show the deck subframe being installed beneath the patio roof, the decking boards being laid across the full area, and the finished deck ready for outdoor furniture.
Building under an existing roof means the space can be used in more weather, and a level deck makes the transition from the house to the garden easier. Careful set-out of the subframe is important so the finished surface is flat and drains well.
